What is the difference between steel and galvanized steel?
Galvanized steel is regular steel sheets that have been coated in zinc to make them corrosion resistant. Regular steel is made of iron which will rust when exposed to moisture, either in the form of rain or ambient humidity.
Can I weld galvanized steel?
You will need a skilled welder to weld galvanized steel successfully, and the ideal method is to remove the zinc coating from the area where you are welding. If you can't do this, use a filler material on the zinc-coated portion of your welding area.
How do you make galvanized steel shiny?
For a finishing touch, polish and buff your galvanized steel using lint-free cloths and wax or metal polish.
Is galvanized steel Magnetic?
A magnet test will also reveal whether a painted sheet metal feature is zinc or galvanized iron or steel. Both galvanized iron and steel are magnetic, pure zinc is not.
