What is 316 stainless steel sheet?
316/316L stainless steel coil and sheet is part of the austenitic family of stainless steel. 316 grades contain a higher level of Nickel than 304 giving it an improved corrosion resistance over 304 grades.
What is 316 grade stainless steel used for?
Common uses for type 316 stainless steel include in the construction of exhaust manifolds, furnace parts, heat exchangers, jet engine parts, pharmaceutical and photographic equipment, valve and pump parts, chemical processing equipment, tanks, and evaporators.
Is 316 stainless steel hot rolled?
Sheet is Cold Rolled. Stainless steel types 1.4401 and 1.4404 are also known as grades 316 and 316L respectively. Grade 316 is an austenitic grade second only to 304 in commercial importance. 316 stainless steel contains an addition of molybdenum that gives it improved corrosion resistance.
